Has anyone else been following the incredibly tragic case of Rico Hicks? The part that really sticks with me is how a disagreement or feud—whatever the underlying reason might have been—escalates to this point where a 12-year-old ends up involved in something so devastating. I've read a few reports suggesting that neither boy really knew each other, which makes it so much harder to process. This situation makes me think about how vulnerable kids are when there's such easy access to guns, and how a split-second decision can change so many lives forever. My heart genuinely goes out to Rico's family. I can't even imagine what they're going through, losing such a vibrant young boy. It's like a ripple effect of pain; not only has Rico's family lost a child, but another young life is now irrevocably changed. I really hope the community finds a way to rally for some significant change regarding firearm access and safety for our children. Anyone else have thoughts on how we can protect our kids better?
