I've been following the Dewayne Chronister case and recently started thinking about the role cell phone data might have played in the investigation. It's so sad to remember that Dewayne was just doing his job, even on a day he wasn't supposed to work, and ended up losing his life. I wonder how crucial the digital evidence was in pinpointing the timelines or locations for Screws, Durden, and Thomas. In many cases today, it seems like phone records or GPS data can make or break an investigation, especially when building a case around premeditated or collaborative crimes. It's a chilling reminder of how intertwined our lives have become with technology, but in this instance, perhaps it played a part in bringing justice for Dewayne and his family. It's incredibly distressing to know this all happened on a quiet early morning when most people are fast asleep or beginning their day. My heart goes out to Dewayne's loved ones. Hoping they find some peace knowing the case moved forward in court. Anyone know more about the use of forensic tech in this case?
