I was reading more about the tragic murder of Mitchell Mormon Jr. and something that stood out to me was how the shooting happened over such a senseless argument. It’s so devastating to think about how Mitchell was just out trying to enjoy a night celebrating a new job that would help him support his kids. It's always heartbreaking when a life is lost so suddenly, but even more so when it could have been avoided entirely. The fact that he was killed because of a heated exchange stemming from a comment directed at his date is just unbelievable. I can't imagine how his family is feeling, especially knowing he was doing everything he could to provide a better future for his children. It’s these senseless acts of violence that highlight the fragility of life. I truly hope that this case sees some resolution soon for the sake of his loved ones and especially for his kids, who now have to grow up without their father. If anyone reading this was nearby that night and saw anything, no matter how small, it might help bring the person responsible to justice. Sharing what we know is so important in cases like this.
