I’ve been thinking a lot about the little one who was found unharmed at the scene. It’s such a small glimmer of relief amidst this awful situation, but I can’t help but worry about the future ahead for that child. Growing up with such a profound loss and in the shadow of such violence must be incredibly tough, and it breaks my heart that they will never know their mom and grandmother. It’s clear from what I’ve read that Janazia and her mother, Tasha, were deeply loved, and it’s comforting to know that there’s a community rallying around to support the family and the baby during this difficult time. I think it’s so important that the conversation now also focuses on how to ensure this child has all the support needed to thrive despite these tragic beginnings. If anyone knows of ongoing efforts in the Lithonia area to support children affected by domestic violence or if the family is accepting help, it might be nice to share that here. Sometimes knowing that something good can come from a tragedy can help bring a small measure of peace to everyone involved.

This case with Janazia Miles and her mother, Tasha Fluker, has been so heavy on my heart lately. I keep thinking about the chilling details and the poor baby left behind. It’s so hard to imagine the fear and uncertainty that little one must have felt, being so young and unable to truly understand what happened. As the community continues to support the family, especially Janazia's child, it’s a reminder of how crucial close-knit communities are in times of such tragedy. I hope they find all the love and support they need to help give this innocent child a life his mother would have wanted for him. It’s heartbreaking to see such violence tear apart a family, and it makes you realize how important it is to step up and check on our neighbors and loved ones regularly. No one should have to face this alone, and my thoughts are constantly with the family and friends of Janazia and Tasha. If anyone has info about advocacy groups or resources in the area supporting domestic violence survivors, sharing those could be a real comfort to some of us following this case.
