It’s been a few years since Errol Lee Meekins' tragic death, and I still can’t get over how something as petty as a stolen wallet could lead to such a senseless loss of life. I’ve been following the case since day one, and even though the legal proceedings have moved forward, I keep thinking about the bystanders and witnesses who saw the whole thing unfold. Witnessing something so traumatic must have left a mark on them, and I hope they're getting the support they need. Just thinking about how easily things could have turned out differently is really unsettling. I can't imagine the pain his family is still going through, having lost Errol over something so avoidable. It's really important that we as a community continue to support each other and keep talking about these issues, so hopefully, we can prevent future tragedies.
