I've been following Emeka Onyekwe's case, and I can't stop thinking about the role the club's security (or lack thereof) might have played in this tragedy. It baffles me that something like this could happen at an open-mic night, a place where people are just trying to enjoy some music and share their art. I mean, it's supposed to be a safe space, right?
I feel for Emeka's family as they navigate this ordeal and try to find answers. It's not just about seeking justice for his death but also about understanding how this could happen and ensuring it doesn’t happen again. I hope the investigators are taking a hard look at the nightclub's security protocols. It seems critical for places like this to have solid measures in place—not just for legal reasons, but because it's the right thing to do for their patrons' safety.
Would love to hear thoughts on what kind of security should be standard for these venues. Anything we as a community can do to push for changes that might protect others in the future?
