I came across Elliot Harris's case the other day, and it really got to me how long his family had to hold onto hope during those difficult weeks. Waiting nearly two months after the shooting, hoping for a recovery, must have been agonizing. The strength his family and friends must have shown during that time is truly commendable. It’s distressing to think about how many families in Hillcrest Heights and beyond are going through similar situations, living in uncertainty and fear due to gun violence. I hope they know they’re not alone, and we’re here to support them. It’s crucial that community members come together to support law enforcement in gathering information on these cases. If anyone knows something—no matter how small—it could be the key to bringing justice to Elliot and his family. Let’s keep the conversation going and hold onto the hope that these senseless acts can be stopped.
