Just came across Aubrey Sacco's case, and something that stands out to me is the decision to trek solo in Langtang National Park. I know it's common for some hikers there, but with the terrain and unpredictable weather, it feels so risky, especially without a guide. Not to mention, it's a pretty remote area. Has anyone familiar with the region noticed if there have been any changes in safety protocols for solo hikers since her disappearance? It seems like it would be a critical factor to address for both local authorities and travelers who plan to visit these kinds of areas. Interested to hear any insights from those who have been to Langtang or have gone on similar adventures.
Has anyone looked into the guest logs or records from the Lama Hotel where Aubrey was last seen? I know it’s been a while since her disappearance, but sometimes small details can make a big difference. Perhaps someone else staying there around the same time may have seen or heard something significant. In trekking areas, travelers often share stories and advice, so maybe there's something useful in those interactions that just hasn’t come to light yet. I’m really hoping someone out there remembers something. Hoping for any new leads in this baffling case.
