Hi everyone, long-time reader, first-time poster here. I've been following the tragic case of Deniss Becerra and the others involved in the Preston Hills shooting very closely. Something that strikes me is the role that the community could play in solving this. I know these incidents can be complex, but I believe every little detail, no matter how small it seems, could be significant. Why do you all think it might be that witnesses are hesitant to come forward in situations like this one? Is it fear of retaliation, mistrust in the system, or something else entirely? I'm curious about others' thoughts and what we can do as a community to foster a safer environment where people feel comfortable enough to share what they know. My heart really goes out to Deniss’s family and every family touched by this awful event. Keeping them in my thoughts.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Deniss Becerra and the Preston Hills shooting. It’s so unsettling to imagine that things like this happen so close to home. I read somewhere that the Gwinnett County Police have been called out to Preston Hills before for various incidents. It really makes me wonder if some of the history in that area might be connected to what happened that night. There’s got to be people who know something more about the dynamics or tensions in that community. Sometimes it feels like when these tragedies happen, there are signs that get overlooked. It's just so difficult knowing that Deniss and others were caught up in this. If anyone here lived in or around those apartments, were there any warning signs or incidents leading up to May 12? Maybe if we piece together what residents noticed day-to-day, it could reveal something useful. I hope that more people come forward to help the investigators. It's so important that everyone does their part in shedding light on this tragic event, not just for justice but also in respect for the victims and their families. They deserve answers.
