Hi everyone, I've been thinking a lot about Meshela Dukes' case and something really sticks with me: the fact that this tragedy took place within what should be the safest space – home, among family. I can't even begin to imagine the pain this family is experiencing, losing a daughter and sister like Meshela in such circumstances. The case has made me reflect on the hidden struggles families might face behind closed doors and the critical importance of education around gun safety, especially in households where firearms are present. The courts seemed to focus a lot on this aspect during the trial, and it's such an important conversation to have. I’m sending all my love and condolences to Meshela’s family and friends. Let’s keep advocating for better awareness and support systems so that hopefully, something like this won’t happen again. Stay safe, everyone.
