I still can't wrap my head around the tragedy that unfolded at a "Stop the Violence" rally, of all places. Malik Hambrick wasn't just participating; he was attending an event that stood for peace. It's absolutely chilling to think how quickly things escalated, and in such a public setting. My heart goes out to his family and friends. I can't imagine the pain they're enduring, especially knowing Malik was lost at an event dedicated to the exact opposite of what happened. It raises so many questions. How do we foster environments where people feel safe? And how do we effectively address conflicts, especially in such large gatherings? The community needs spaces to heal and real conversations on how we can prevent the same violent narratives from playing out again. I'm hoping that those organizing future rallies will find ways to include conflict resolution training or mediation talks. It feels necessary so that what happened to Malik doesn’t happen again. ?
