I've been following the case of Deputy Jonathan Koleski's tragic death, and my heart truly goes out to his family and friends. I can't stop thinking about the courage it must have taken for Deputy Koleski and Deputy Ervin to serve that warrant, knowing the potential dangers they might face. It's so hard to imagine the sudden chaos they were thrust into and how it all unfolded in such a short span.
The part that really gets me is how these brave individuals were protecting all of us, yet this senseless act ended their lives. It's so important that we remember and appreciate the risks that law enforcement officers take every single day. I've never met Deputy Koleski, but his dedication and service have not gone unnoticed.
For anyone who knew him, the hole left by his absence must be immense. All I can hope for is some level of healing and peace for those who are mourning this terrible loss. Absolutely crushing to lose someone so committed to their duty and community.
I just can't shake the feeling of immense respect for Deputy Koleski and all he stood for. Reading about his service record both in the military and with the Cobb County Sheriff's Office makes you realize how much he dedicated his life to protecting others. It’s devastating to know that someone who survived three tours in Iraq and Afghanistan could be lost in such a senseless act of violence on his home soil. I can't even begin to imagine what his family is going through. How do you cope with losing someone who spent his whole life facing danger in order to keep others safe? My thoughts go out to his wife and family. They must be incredibly proud of his legacy. Thank you for your service, Deputy Koleski. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
