I've been following Elijah DeWitt's case closely, and something that's been on my mind is the lawsuit his family filed against the mall and its associated businesses. While I can't imagine the pain and frustration his family must be feeling, I wonder how successful this kind of lawsuit might be. It's clear that safety was a significant issue that night. Considering Sugarloaf Mills has had incidents before, it's sad to think they might have overlooked necessary security measures. We all go to places like these expecting a level of safety, and it's devastated a family when that's not the case. Hoping this case brings about some changes so no family has to experience a similar tragedy.
