Hi everyone, I’ve been following the Corneshia Butler case, and I can’t stop thinking about how this system really failed her and her kids. It just seems unbelievable that despite having a restraining order and such a clear history of violence, Shakyia Perkins was still allowed to be out on bond. I can't imagine the fear and helplessness Corneshia must have felt, having tried to protect herself and her children from such violence. For those who might know more about legal processes or have seen similar cases, what do you think could have been done differently to prevent this? It's just so infuriating and deeply saddening to know that she did everything she could, and yet the system let her down. I hope there’s a push for change so that this doesn’t keep happening to other families. Corneshia deserved to feel safe, and her kids deserved to have their mom. Sending love to her friends and family. ?

Has anyone else been following the systemic issues highlighted by Corneshia Butler's tragic case? It’s infuriating and deeply saddening to think that despite the numerous signs and legal actions taken, nothing was enough to prevent this horrific outcome. How is it possible that someone with such an extensive history of violence was able to get out on bond, only to continue this tragic cycle? The system failed Corneshia and her four kids, who now have to live with this unbearable loss. While people often talk about the effectiveness of restraining orders, it's clear from this case that they don't automatically ensure safety. We desperately need to reevaluate how we approach cases of domestic violence and prioritize protecting victims more effectively. Sending thoughts and prayers to Corneshia’s family and her children. It's crucial for us to keep pushing for change so such a tragedy never happens again. What do others think needs to change in our legal system to offer better protection for victims of domestic violence?

I've been following Corneshia Butler's case closely, and my thoughts go out to her children and family during this incredibly tough time. I came across some details about the stalking incidents leading up to her tragic death, and it is just mind-boggling that Shakyia Perkins was still able to approach her despite the restraining order. A particularly harrowing incident was when Perkins used her car to hit Butler’s vehicle on September 13, 2021. It’s terrifying to think how persistent Perkins was in her pursuit, completely disregarding legal boundaries. With so many previous red flags, it is as if the system continuously failed to act before it was too late. I can't help but hope that this case serves as a wake-up call to improve how these situations are handled in the future, ensuring better enforcement of protective measures. How many more times will someone slip through the cracks before real change happens?
