I’ve been following the case of Joshua Reed closely and something that’s been on my mind is how vital community support is in situations like this. Stone Mountain, like many places, has its struggles with gun violence, but it’s heartening to see the community coming together in the wake of such a tragic event. It’s clear that Joshua's friends and family have been incredibly strong throughout this ordeal. The arrest of Jamarcus Jones was a crucial step forward, but as the case progresses, I truly hope it encourages more conversations around prevention and safety in our neighborhoods. Works like neighborhood watches, community meetings, and other initiatives can make a difference. Joshua’s story shouldn’t end in vain; it should be a catalyst for change. My thoughts and support go out to his loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
