Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking about Robert Jackson's case from 2013 a lot. I can't get over how tragic it is for his family and friends to still be without answers. It’s heartbreaking that a 34-year-old with so much life ahead of him could be taken so violently and that justice has been so elusive. Living in Baltimore, I'm all too familiar with the struggles around here, particularly in the more vulnerable neighborhoods. What really puzzles me is how, despite all the crime in the area, it seems like we can’t gain any traction on cases like this. I’ve read about the lack of cooperation from witnesses and I get it's dangerous to come forward, but at the same time, these neighborhoods deserve some peace and resolution. I wish there could be more trust between the community and law enforcement because keeping silent only lets the perpetrators go free, leaving families like Robert’s without the closure they desperately need. How can we better create a safe space for people to speak up so these cases can finally be solved? Any Baltimore locals have thoughts on how we've seen things change (or not) since then? Let’s hope for justice for Robert and others like him.
