Hi everyone,
I’ve been thinking a lot about the context around Natafre Green’s tragic death, especially considering the broader trends from that time. It’s so concerning to see that 2013 was a year marked by growing violence, especially involving women in Baltimore. I remember reading articles about how women were increasingly involved in dangerous situations, either as victims or perpetrators, and it just breaks my heart.
What’s been on my mind lately is how law enforcement and communities can work together to address these issues. With the socio-economic challenges and gang conflicts that were mentioned, it feels like part of a larger systemic problem. I hope more attention is paid to these underlying factors because it’s clear that they play a significant role in the violence we’re seeing.
I can’t imagine what Natafre’s family is going through, and I hope they find strength during this unfathomable time. Does anyone else remember reading about efforts back then to address this rise in violence involving women? Were there any community programs or policy changes that stood out to you?
Sending my thoughts to everyone who’s been touched by this and similar tragedies.
