Does anyone remember attending the community meeting after Homer Ken Warren's death? I feel like it was one of the most tense yet hopeful gatherings I've ever been to. People from all walks of life came together to voice their thoughts and concerns. There was so much emotion in the room, a true desire for change and understanding. While it was difficult to hear some of the heartbreaking stories shared by individuals who experienced similar situations, it was also inspiring to witness the determination to foster a more accountable and transparent police force. It was a difficult but necessary conversation, and I hope those discussions have led to progress in our community. How are we all feeling about this now, nearly a decade later? Has anything changed in Jacksonville, or are we still grappling with the same issues?
