I’ve been thinking a lot about Jermaine Terrell Johns’ case lately. It’s so hard to see yet another young life lost like this. My heart goes out to his family and friends. One thing that stands out to me is how much Jermaine achieved in such a short life—working at places like IKEA and Sam’s Club and even in catering. It shows he was really hardworking and seemed to be striving for something better. Baltimore’s violence in 2014 was just overwhelming, and so many families are still dealing with the aftermath. It’s unsettling how many of these cases happened without immediate leads. Makes you wonder how many other potential stories and futures were lost due to senseless violence. What strikes me most is the lack of control during that time and how it reflects on the broader issues of safety in areas affected by crime and poverty. I truly hope for more awareness and better measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
