It's been a few years since the tragic loss of James "Coon" Shores, but something about this case still haunts me. I stumbled across an old article that mentioned how the community held a vigil for him soon after he was discovered. It's so moving to think about how neighbors, friends, and even strangers came together, sharing memories and lighting candles in his honor on what was once serene land that he loved.
James seemed like a remarkable person, the type who would have gone out of his way to help others. Having such a sense of community to support his family during such a difficult time speaks volumes about the kind of man he was. I can't help but wonder how his family is doing now and how they have managed to find peace in the years following.
If anyone from Chipley sees this, I'd love to hear more about the stories shared during that vigil or just any memories you might have of him. It seems his legacy as a caring neighbor and dedicated game warden left a profound impact.
