I was reading through posts and saw updates about Lawanna Ruth McDaniel's case, which have really stirred something in me. It pains me to think about the length of time her family has had to endure without answers or justice. The detail that Detective Harmoni Brooks is on the case gives me hope, as the "Cold Case Spotlight" series has reopened doors for some cold cases in the past. But what truly baffles me is the location where Lawanna was found. That spot near Yellow Water and Wells roads is pretty isolated, right? I wonder if that might say something about the suspect's familiarity with the area. Seems like they might have known it wouldn’t attract immediate attention. It’s been almost a decade, and without more to go on, can anyone familiar with that part of Jacksonville shed some light on typical activity there, or if any new developments have surfaced locally that weren’t widely reported? Really wish that with this renewed focus, someone—anyone—with even the smallest bit of info will find the courage to step forward. Lawanna deserves to be remembered, and her family deserves peace. My heart goes out to them during this incredibly difficult time. Let's keep the conversation going and see if we can bring about any new insights.

Has anyone else looked into the area where Lawanna's body was found? I find it curious that she was discovered in a ditch near Yellow Water and Wells roads. I used to live not too far from there, and it's a pretty secluded spot, to be honest. I wonder if whoever did this knew the area well and chose it for that reason. It seems like a place someone might go if they wanted to avoid being seen. My heart goes out to Lawanna's family; it must be incredibly painful not knowing who was responsible after all these years. I hope Detective Brooks and the team get the breakthrough they're waiting for soon. If anyone has more insight into the location or any relevant details, sharing might help bring attention back to this case.
