I came across this case about Niurvy Dlima, and I can't stop thinking about how her friend, Estela Cuba, must be feeling now. Not only did she endure a terrifying ordeal, but she also lost a close friend that night. After surviving such a traumatic event, I imagine the emotional and physical recovery must be incredibly difficult for her. It's crucial for communities to support survivors like Estela, as they navigate the aftermath of such violence. Does anyone know if there might be resources or support systems in Hialeah that could help her? Cases like this remind us that healing is a long journey, and no one should have to go through it alone.

Has anyone else been following the trial of Jorge Salgado Polanco? I can't stop thinking about how clear it was that Niurvy Dlima and Estela Cuba were just trying to move on and live their lives after the end of that long relationship. It really hit me how terrifying it must have been for them that night in the parking lot—just enjoying an evening out at Las Tabernas de Wancho and then faced with such unimaginable violence from someone they knew. I’m glad the court took the time to really lay out the evidence, especially the premeditation aspect of it. Jealousy is such a scary emotion, and it breaks my heart that it led to such irreversible actions. My thoughts are with Niurvy's family and friends as they try to piece together some semblance of peace after losing her in such a violent way. And let's not forget Estela—wishing her strength and a full recovery, both physically and emotionally.
