I’ve been following Carldarius Patrick’s case closely and it's truly devastating what happened to him. I can’t help but think about the witness accounts of the shooter hanging out of the sunroof. It’s so vivid and yet nothing has come from it. Why haven’t we gotten any leads? There were so many people around that evening—surely someone saw something more that could help. It breaks you seeing this family pleading for justice and yet nobody’s been able to come forward with what’s needed to bring closure. It’s a sad reminder about the sense of fear these acts of violence can instill, making folks hesitant to speak up. If anyone knows anything, please find it in your heart to share with the authorities. 16 is way too young for someone’s journey to end. Keeping Carldarius’ family in my thoughts.
It's been over eight years since dear Carldarius was taken from us, and it still feels like yesterday. I’ve lived in Orlando my whole life, and this senseless violence breaks my heart. I never knew him personally, but I remember hearing about the shooting that night — it shook our community to the core. The thought of his mother, LaRossa, finding him like that is just unimaginable.
What’s so frustrating is that there haven't been any arrests or real leads since then. How can someone do this and just disappear? I often think about the man described hanging out of that sunroof, and it chills me to the bone. I really hope someone comes forward with information to provide closure for his grieving family.
