I’ve been following the case of Elman Miranda’s tragic passing, and I can't stop thinking about the impact it's had on his children. Losing a parent is a devastating experience, especially in such a violent and unexpected manner. It breaks my heart to think about how they have to grow up without their father around—a man who seemed so dedicated to them and his work. It's moments like these that remind us of the ripples these crimes send throughout families and communities. Those kids will always hold the memory of their dad, but it's so unfair that their lives have been changed forever by one senseless act. My thoughts are with them as they navigate such a difficult journey without Elman's presence in their lives. How can the community best support these children in the long term?
