Does anyone else find themselves thinking about the kids who were playing nearby when tragedy struck Walter Terhune and others that day? It's absolutely terrifying to imagine such a scene unfolding right in front of them. The trauma they must be dealing with is unimaginable, especially knowing that a brave soul like Walter ran toward danger in hopes of protecting others. I hope the community is rallying around these children and offering support and counseling. No child should have to witness such violence, and it's crucial that they receive the care they need to process these horrific events. My heart goes out to them and everyone affected by this senseless tragedy.
Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about how Walter S. Terhune was such a hero in such a horrible situation. It's so rare to see someone step up fearlessly like that, especially when their own safety is at risk. It's hard to comprehend the courage it must have taken to run towards danger to protect others, particularly with children nearby. This community has suffered such a tremendous loss, and it truly underscores the impact a single individual can have through their bravery and selflessness. My heart goes out to Walter's family and friends—losing someone so altruistic is a monumental tragedy. Let's remember and honor his courageous spirit, and keep everyone affected by this terrible event in our thoughts.
Stay safe, everyone.
I keep thinking about the courage that Walter Terhune showed that day. It's hard to comprehend how someone could run towards danger to help others, especially with little concern for their own safety. It's truly a testament to his character and bravery, qualities that seem hard to come by these days. Knowing he was a decorated war veteran, it seems like he dedicated his life to serving and protecting, and that continued even in his final moments. It’s deeply moving and incredibly sad that such a kind-hearted person had to lose his life in such a tragic way. My thoughts are with his family and the whole Inglis community as they try to heal from this horrible event. Does anyone know if there’s been any community effort or memorial set up to honor his bravery?
