I've been thinking a lot about Wendell Nichols' role in all of this. It's so sad to consider how he was just trying to recover from an injury and was caught in the crossfire of someone else's turbulent relationship. Imagine, he probably thought staying with Kim was a safe haven while he recovered, only to have it end so tragically. And then there's his girlfriend, who heard everything over the phone... I can't even begin to imagine the shock and helplessness she must have felt. My heart goes out to her and all the families involved. It’s a reminder of how deeply domestic disputes can affect those who aren’t directly involved in them. How do you even begin to heal from something like that?
