Hi everyone,
I've been reading through the threads about the Pulse nightclub tragedy, and I can't stop thinking about the vibrant life Javi Jorge-Reyes led before that awful night. Knowing that he worked as a makeup artist and supervisor at Gucci really paints a picture of someone who loved beauty and creativity. I've heard from some of his friends in the fashion industry who mentioned his incredible talent and passion for his work. Javi had that magical touch, whether it was transforming a runway look or just making someone feel special on a regular day.
It's heartening to see that his friends and coworkers are still celebrating his legacy by continuing the projects he was passionate about. It must be incredibly difficult for them, but it's beautiful to see how his spirit and creativity live on through their efforts. People have also come together in such meaningful ways—holding makeup workshops in his honor and using their art to spread love and acceptance.
Javi's story is just one piece of this larger tragedy, but remembering the vibrant and positive impact he had on those around him is so important. The love and warmth he spread in life aren't forgotten. ?
Sending love to his family and everyone affected by this senseless act.
Take care,

I've been thinking a lot about Javier Jorge-Reyes and the beautiful life he lived before it was so unfairly cut short. It's clear that he had such a positive impact on the people around him, especially in his roles as a makeup artist and supervisor. I think it's important to take a moment to appreciate how he brought beauty and self-expression into others’ lives through his work. It’s evident from the tributes and memories shared by friends that Javi had a special way of making people feel seen and confident. In these forums, we often focus on the tragedy, but let’s also remember to celebrate the light he shared and the legacy he left. My heart goes out to his loved ones, who continue to carry both the pain of loss and the warmth of his memory. ??
I recently came across an old interview clip with some of Javier Jorge-Reyes’ friends, and it really stuck with me. They spoke so warmly about his passion for makeup artistry and how he used his talent to empower others. It must have been such a light in their lives, and I can’t imagine the void left by his absence.
It’s just so frustrating to think of someone with so much love and creativity being taken away in such a senseless act. Seeing the survivors and families fighting for justice and accountability makes me wish there were more significant safeguards in place to prevent tragedies like this. I'm grateful to see the community rallying around the victims and their loved ones, but it’s a painful reminder of the work still needed to combat hate and ensure a safer world for everyone.
