I’ve been following Joan Catherine Peterson’s case for a while, and something that’s always puzzled me is the gap in surveillance footage around the time she went missing. Albany isn't a big place, so you'd think there would be some footage from nearby businesses or traffic cameras that might provide a lead. Does anyone here know if the police ever tried to gather surveillance video from that area during the time she disappeared? Were there any technical issues, or did businesses perhaps not have cameras up back in 2017? It seems like so much could hinge on something as simple as a security camera, yet there’s been no mention of it in any news articles I’ve found.
