Reading about Owen Frazier's case has brought up so many emotions for me. It's especially unsettling to hear that Owen felt he was being stalked but didn't share more about it. It makes me think about how often we brush off our instincts or concerns, fearing we might be overreacting. I wish Owen had felt comfortable enough to tell someone or access resources that might have helped him navigate those feelings.
Shelley Frazier's portrayal of her son as a social butterfly really hits home, and it must have been so hard for her to see him burdened by the violence around him. It's heartbreaking how Owen's life, filled with promise and kindness, was cut short by such senseless violence. It’s so important that we, as a community, continue to address the root causes of such tragedy.
I've read that he had just gone back to school, so he was clearly striving to better his life and perhaps affect change. My heart goes out to his family and friends, who must carry on his memory while dealing with a profound loss.
