I've been following the case of Akeyl Jahmal Dennis and Juan Carlos Ilarraza for a while now, and one thing that really bothers me is how many people were present that night at the Caribbean Unity Center, yet no one has been willing to step up with information. I can't help but wonder what it will take for someone to come forward. It must be incredibly hard for Akeyl and Juan's loved ones to know that potential witnesses are out there who might hold the key to solving the case. I think about the role community plays in situations like this. As much as law enforcement is working tirelessly, they cannot do it alone. If anyone who was there is reading this, please consider the families. They deserve answers and closure. Even the smallest detail could make a huge difference. Sharing anonymously with Crimeline might take minutes, but it could be the piece that brings everything together. ?
