Hey everyone, I came across an old news article about Shaquil Hinton’s tragic passing and just wanted to share something that really struck me. The shooting happened over Memorial Day weekend, which should be a time for family, relaxation, and remembering those we've lost. Instead, it turned into a nightmare of violence in Baltimore, with so many lives abruptly changed forever. I can’t imagine the pain Shaquil’s loved ones must have felt, along with the families of the other victims that weekend. It was just heartbreaking to think about how something as joyous as a long weekend could turn so tragic. What also piqued my interest was how this event and others like it seemed to converge during a period of intense unrest in the city, especially following Freddie Gray's death. It's a harsh reminder of the reality many faced there at the time, where safety felt like a distant possibility. I hope that in the years since then, measures have been taken to prevent a repeat of such a sorrowful weekend. My thoughts are with the victims’ families as they continue to seek justice and healing.
