I'm truly saddened by what happened to Alicia Roundtree, and every time I think about that tragic day, it makes me reflect on how unpredictable and precious life is. I recently came across the fact that Alicia was simply driving on a regular day, and to imagine that something so violent and senseless took her away from her family is incredibly upsetting. What's particularly haunting is the fact that this happened right near the North Dade Regional Library—a place you'd normally associate with community and safety. It just serves as a stark reminder that violence can erupt anywhere, affecting innocents who have nothing to do with the conflicts playing out around them. I'm relieved to hear that Donald Young was apprehended and that the judicial process is honoring Alicia's memory by upholding the charges. However, no legal outcome can ever truly compensate Alicia's family for their loss. Reading about her sons, Isaiah and Johnathan, and their journey through this has been incredibly moving. Isaiah's story about graduating college and attributing his success to his mother's influence is a testament to Alicia's enduring impact on her children. I sincerely hope Alicia's family continues to find the strength and support they need. ?️
