I’ve been thinking a lot about the involvement of the Cabazon Band of Mission Indians in this case. It’s really unsettling how deep the illegal activities seem to run and how they might relate to Alfred Alvarez’s murder. I can't help but feel for Alfred and his family—he was just trying to do the right thing, and it seems like he paid the ultimate price for it. The connection between a seemingly peaceful tribal reservation and organized crime sounds like something out of a movie, but it’s tragically real. Has anyone else looked into the tribe’s history or have insights into how these illegal operations could have gone unnoticed for so long? It’s so wild to think about the duality of this—the beautiful culture and community masked by corruption. My heart goes out to everyone impacted by this tragedy.
