I’ve been thinking a lot about the fact that both Deputy Lindsey and Sergeant Ramirez-Beltran were on a lunch break when this terrible event unfolded. It really hits home how vulnerable officers can be, even when they’re off-duty or taking a moment to rest. They were just trying to grab a bite and ended up caught in such a senseless act of violence. It’s infuriating and incredibly sad. For both of them, their lives ended in such an unexpected and violent way, and I can't help but feel deeply for their families and loved ones. It's a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of life, especially for those in law enforcement who confront danger as part of their daily routine—but should still be able to enjoy the simplest of moments, like a lunch break. I hope the community's continued support has brought some comfort to their families. It’s just so important that we remember their dedication and the positive impact they had on those around them. Sending strength to everyone affected by this tragedy.
