Has anyone else looked into the tides and water levels on that section of the Mississippi around the time Paul Johnson went missing? I've been reading up on the river currents in that area and it seems like they can be incredibly unpredictable, especially during the summer months. I know some rivers have specific "danger zones" that locals avoid because of strong currents or undertows. I’m wondering if that section near Grand Tower is known to locals as problematic. Maybe there's some historical data on similar incidents? It’s so tragic that these conditions might have played such a big role in what happened to Paul. If anyone has more information or local insight, it might help piece some of this puzzle together.
Hello everyone,
I've been following Paul's case since it occurred, and something that stands out as particularly frustrating is the recurring danger that the Mississippi River presents in that area. It's shocking how many incidents have happened there due to the strong currents. I wonder if there have been any additional safety measures or warning systems installed since Paul's disappearance. It's so vital for communities near hazardous river spots to have thorough precautions to prevent more tragedies. Does anyone living near Grand Tower know if there have been any changes or discussions about improving safety around those areas since 2017? It seems like there’s a necessary conversation to be had about access restrictions or better warning signage to protect folks visiting these areas.
Hoping for his family that clear answers come soon.
Has anyone taken a look at the conditions of the Mississippi River around the time Paul and his uncle were swept away? I was doing some digging, and it seems like the river was particularly high that summer due to heavy rains. I read that when the water levels are up, the currents can become extremely unpredictable, even in parts that look calm. I'm no expert, but maybe this was a factor in why the search teams couldn't recover Paul. It's so important to raise awareness about the dangers of these waters, especially since this isn't the first incident of its kind in that area. Thoughts on whether more warning signs or safety measures might help prevent future tragedies?
