I've been thinking a lot about how the justice system handles cases like Nicole's. It's so incredibly sad for her family, especially those two little kids who will never grow up with their mom. I can't imagine the pain her family must be going through right now. Meanwhile, with Mejias denied bail and the trial expected to be a long process, it makes me wonder how often people are held accountable in these domestic violence situations before tragedy strikes. We often hear that offenders have a history of violence that gets missed or minimized. I hope that anyone else in Nicole's situation sees this and gets the support they need before it’s too late. It's just so important for communities to come together to protect vulnerable individuals. How can we raise more awareness and better support domestic violence victims to prevent more heartbreak like this? My thoughts are with Nicole’s loved ones every day.

I've been following Nicole's case and it's just so incredibly sad. As someone who's had to deal with a toxic relationship in the past, I can't even begin to imagine the fear and heartbreak she went through. One thing that's been on my mind is the part about Michael's call to 911. I've listened to the call a few times (it's out there in the public domain), and it really struck me how he tried to distance himself from what had happened. It’s chilling to think he was trying to claim innocence just moments after the shooting. It's important for us to remember that these calls are often the first bit of evidence law enforcement gets and can sometimes reveal more than what’s being said outright. Wishing strength and love to Nicole's family during this incredibly tough time. ?
