I was reading about the tragic shooting of Montez Dewayne Davis and couldn't help but feel for his family and friends during this difficult time. One thing that's been on my mind is how the community around "The Slab" is coping with the incident. It seems like such a tight-knit area, and I wonder how the residents are reacting to the heightened police presence and the ongoing investigation. It's devastating to think that an argument over drugs escalated to this level of violence, and now the whole neighborhood has been impacted. I hope some healing can begin and that justice will be served for Montez and the woman who was injured. Does anyone from Gainesville have insights on how local community groups might be working to prevent this kind of violence in the future?
