I've been following the tragic events surrounding Altonio Dunston's murder, and my heart goes out to his friends and family during this unfathomable time. It's devastating that violence has touched their lives in such a profound way. I noticed there's been talk in the community about how quickly law enforcement increased their presence in South Apopka after these incidents. It's understandable that people are feeling on edge, especially with multiple shootings happening in such a short span. While it's assuring to see that more resources are being dedicated to preventing further violence, it makes me wonder about the long-term plans for community safety. How can we, as residents or even concerned onlookers, support the efforts in making our neighborhoods safer? It's so important that we remain vigilant and cooperative with law enforcement, but I also feel there's a need for community-based initiatives that tackle the root causes of this violence. Anyone have any thoughts or know of organizations that are working on this? I'm sure Altonio’s loved ones would appreciate knowing that positive change can come out of such a tragic situation. Sending strength to all those affected.
