Has anyone delved into the possibility of Bushbaum assuming a completely new identity after his escape? It's fascinating to think about how he could have managed to stay off the radar for so long. Given the era he vanished in, I imagine it might have been somewhat more feasible to create a new identity back in the '60s compared to now. There were stories of people vanishing from their old lives and starting fresh somewhere else. Could Bushbaum have had help on the outside to pull this off? It's sad how this case is still open after all these years, with his fate remaining one great unsolved mystery. Would love to hear others' thoughts on how realistic this scenario might be!
I’ve been doing some reading on Jimmy Laverne Bushbaum’s escape from San Quentin back in '65, and something doesn’t add up for me. How did he manage to slip away so easily? I mean, escaping from a high-security prison isn’t exactly a walk in the park, right? I’m wondering if he had inside help or if there were lapses in security that day. The part that puzzles me the most is that stolen car found in Emeryville. If he was savvy enough to stay hidden all these years, why abandon a trace so close to the prison? Feels like either a misstep or maybe even a decoy action? Crazy to think how someone can vanish into thin air like that, even with all eyes peeled looking for him. Anyone else got theories on how he could’ve orchestrated his escape so smoothly?
