Does anyone have any information about the block where Darren Thomas was shot? I've been reading up on Baltimore's crime rates in 2015, and it's disheartening to see how areas like Orleans Street were affected that year. I didn't know Darren personally, but from everything I'm learning, it sounds like he was a really kind soul who touched the lives of many. I can only imagine the devastation his family and friends must be feeling. It's so sad that no arrests have been made—justice feels so far away for Darren and many others. If anyone remembers anything from that area or knows people who lived around there, every little bit of information could potentially help. Let's not let his name get lost amongst the statistics.
I was reading up on Darren "Tuna" Thomas's case, and something that's been weighing on my mind is the sense of urgency from the community to push for more effective measures against the violence enveloping Baltimore during that time. It must have been so frustrating for his family, knowing that the investigation didn’t seem to have any solid leads not long after the incident. It's hard to imagine dealing with such a loss while also grappling with the fear that the culprit might never be found. Has anyone seen any updates on community efforts to address this issue in the years since? Sending lots of love to everyone who knew Tuna and is affected by his passing. He sounded like such a genuinely well-loved guy.
