James Charles Stanford's case has always intrigued me, especially the part about wanting to join a convent. It just seems like such an unusual decision for a 16-year-old boy in 1971. I wonder if anyone has looked into religious communities from that era in California or Texas that might have taken him in. Perhaps there's a chance he did find shelter there, but it's just never been connected back to his disappearance? I think exploring alternative lifestyles from that time period could yield some new insights or leads. What do you all think? Anyone have experience researching cases with religious aspects?
