I've been digging through old articles trying to piece this together, and something that's caught my attention is the timeline of when Debora was last seen. Why did George say she packed up and left without telling anyone else that morning? I know it was a different time back then, but it seems strange that she wouldn't at least call someone or leave a note. The fact that George has been convicted of other violent crimes really does make me question his story even more. It almost feels like this is a puzzle with so many missing pieces. Is there any indication that the police looked into whether anyone other than George saw Debora after they got back home that night? I wonder if the bar staff or patrons from that night remember anything unusual. It feels like there might be a key detail that's been overlooked all these years.

Has anyone else come across the part in Debora Jean Howard's case where it's mentioned that she supposedly packed her things and left the morning after that bar outing? I find it so odd that there's no trace of her belongings anywhere, like wouldn't you think someone might have seen her leaving with suitcases or bags? It really makes you question McCraney's version of events. Plus, no friends or witnesses came forward seeing her leave. It's one of those details that's always bothered me, especially considering his later criminal record. Does anyone have more info on whether there were actually any searches done at the time to look for her belongings or verify McCraney's story?

Has anyone looked into the bar they were at that night for more information? Sometimes small details can emerge from places you least expect, like staff or regulars remembering something significant about that night. If Debora had any interactions or if there was a scene, even the smallest thing, it could trigger a memory. I know it’s been decades, but locals who frequented that bar might still live in the area or have stories passed down about that time. Anyone here from Lake City or familiar with the local history that would know more about that place back in the '70s? It feels like revisiting those old haunts might shed some light or at least bring fresh perspectives.
