Has anyone else been feeling deeply moved by the courage of Zariyah Marshall’s family? I read about how Zariyah tried to protect her baby during the shooting, and it just broke my spirit. It’s so incredibly distressing to think about what they all went through in those final moments.
Zariyah’s mom showing such strength in her public appearances—speaking at vigils and protests—it really underscores the unbearable loss they’re facing. I can’t imagine the pain of losing a child under such circumstances, while also trying to keep their memory alive and seeking justice. It’s clear this family is doing everything they can to find answers and closure, and it’s heartbreaking that they’re facing such difficulties due to lack of cooperation from witnesses.
We’ve got to do better as a community. These families deserve justice for the lives taken so cruelly from them. I truly hope that someone comes forward soon with information that could help bring some solace to Dawann and Zariyah’s loved ones. My heart goes out to their families, and I’m hoping they find the peace and justice they’ve been tirelessly fighting for.
I’ve been following Dawann and Zariyah's case closely, and it's just devastating how this could happen in broad daylight with seemingly no consequences. I can't imagine the pain their families are going through. I was struck by how young Zariyah was protecting her child during this tragedy—it makes the whole situation even more unbearable. With their families so active in seeking justice, it breaks my heart that there still hasn't been an arrest. Does anyone have any thoughts on why there seems to be such a lack of witness cooperation? I know community fear plays a big role, but learning about it is a stark reminder of how silence can allow violence to continue. If anyone here has suggestions on how the community can better support these families or help nudge forward the investigation, it would be great to hear your thoughts. Dawann and Zariyah deserve justice, and their stories shouldn't be forgotten.
