I've been thinking a lot about the security protocols (or lack thereof) at the Take 1 Lounge after hearing about Bernie Jean's tragic murder. It's really unsettling to learn that this venue has a history of violent incidents. I'm left wondering why nothing substantial seems to have been done to improve safety measures there. Shouldn't repeated violent episodes be a wake-up call for both the business owners and local authorities? I can't imagine the pain Bernie's family must be going through, dealing with such an unimaginable loss while the person responsible is still out there. It feels like some accountability is necessary, not just from the shooter but also from those who allowed such an unsafe environment to persist. Would love to hear what everyone else thinks—especially anyone local to the area who might have insights on whether any changes have been made since this happened.
