I've been following the discussion about Shaniya Charles's heartbreaking case and wanted to touch on something that's been on my mind. When reading about how the neighbors could hear the argument before the gunshot, it makes me wonder if anything was ever reported in the past regarding signs of trouble between Shaniya and Michael. Sometimes, neighbors might not know what action to take when they hear something that sounds off, and it seems like this situation could have been different if intervention happened earlier. Domestic violence doesn't always happen in silence, but recognizing the signs and knowing when to step in can be difficult. It truly saddens me to think about what might have been overlooked or dismissed before it escalated to such violence. My thoughts are with Shaniya's friends and family during this tremendously difficult time. Let's hope the ongoing dialogue around this case encourages communities to be more aware and proactive in preventing similar tragedies.
