I can't stop thinking about the night Deon Manick was killed and how no one called 911 after hearing the gunshots. It's unsettling to think about what might have been different if help had been on the way sooner. I can't blame anyone specifically because it's such a human reaction to freeze or not know what to do in the moment, but it's heartbreaking to consider the possibilities. Deon was so young and seemed to have such a bright future ahead of him, as described by his mom. I really hope the investigation brings answers soon, not just for his family but also for the community. No arrests yet, which must be incredibly frustrating for everyone involved. It's a tough reminder of how important it is for all of us to look out for one another and to act when something feels wrong. Keeping Deon's loved ones in my thoughts as they pursue justice.
