What's particularly troubling is how close this occurred to a public area—a reminder that these senseless acts can unfold anywhere and affect anyone. It's really concerning that in 2016, a year that saw so many lives lost in Baltimore, there still wasn't enough progress in solving these cases. It makes you wonder what more could be done to encourage witnesses to speak up or how the community can be supported in feeling safe to come forward. I hope that someday soon, justice is served for Ronald and others like him, and that the pattern of violence finally sees a real solution.
