I've been following the horrifying case of the Berumen-Ramirez family tragedy and something keeps haunting me. I can't stop thinking about the incredible strength it must take for the extended family and friends to cope after losing their loved ones this way. I read that the family had moved from Los Angeles to Orlando just two years before this happened. It makes you wonder about all the unfulfilled dreams and plans they carried with them to their new home. What has struck me the most are the memories shared by those who knew Alyssa, Sunny, and Shelby. Alyssa was just starting to build her own path at 22, while Sunny and Shelby had their whole lives ahead of them—filled with plays, birthdays, and school adventures. This senseless act has left such a deep scar, not only on the people who knew and loved them but also on the community that welcomed them with open arms. While this heartbreaking event highlights the critical need for awareness and intervention in domestic violence situations, it also reminds us to cherish every moment with our loved ones. My thoughts are with all who are suffering because of this terrible loss.

Just came across this case and I'm struggling to wrap my head around it. Alyssa Berumen, only 22, lost her beautiful life along with her family in what police have labeled a murder-suicide. I read that they had moved to Orlando not too long ago; I can't imagine what their friends in Los Angeles might be feeling hearing this news. It really makes you pause and think about how little you sometimes know about what’s happening behind closed doors. The whole neighborhood must be grappling with disbelief and sadness. I hope the community can come together to support one another and keep spreading awareness about the dangers of domestic violence. What a tragic reminder that we need to look out for each other and not stay silent if we notice signs of trouble. Hoping for peace and healing for everyone who knew them.
