I've been following the case of the tragic shooting in Orlando, and it just haunts me. The senseless loss of young Janice Serrano and the other members of her family is so hard to comprehend. I've been thinking a lot about the impact on Janice's surviving siblings, especially her twin sister. I can't begin to imagine the emotional turmoil they're experiencing after such a traumatic event. Losing a twin at such a young age, and under these horrific circumstances, will undoubtedly have a deep, lasting effect on her. I hope there are specialized support services stepping in to help these kids cope with the trauma and loss. They deserve all the love and support possible to begin to heal. If anyone knows of resources available in Orlando or has suggestions on how the community can rally around these children, please share. Healing from something like this is a long journey, and every bit of support can make a difference. Let’s keep Janice’s siblings in our thoughts and hold them close in our hearts as they navigate this unimaginable reality.
