Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about the community initiatives mentioned in discussions about Tevin Haygood's tragic death. It seems like there are so many well-intentioned projects aimed at tackling violence in Baltimore, but they often don't get the support they need to create lasting change. It's so frustrating to see grassroots efforts struggle for funding and resources when we hear about another young life lost like Tevin's.
Does anyone have any insights on successful programs in other cities that have faced similar violence issues? It feels like we need to learn from models that have really worked elsewhere. Sharing positive examples might inspire more support for similar efforts in Baltimore.
Thoughts and prayers go out to Tevin's family and all others touched by such senseless violence. They deserve more than just words; they deserve real action and change.
Stay safe, everyone.
Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about the role that community initiatives can play in tackling gun violence, especially after reading about the tragic loss of Tevin Haygood. It’s been over seven years since that senseless act on Calhoun Street, and it seems like a lot of families in Baltimore are still left without closure. What really struck me about this case is the apparent lack of progress in identifying suspects or making arrests — a reminder of how difficult it is to achieve justice in the wake of these crimes.
From what I understand, neighborhood-based programs that offer resources and support to at-risk youth could potentially make a real difference in preventing future tragedies. But the question remains: how can these programs be effectively implemented and supported by the larger community? It's frustrating to see these ongoing issues when we all want safer streets and justice for families like Tevin’s.
I’d love to hear any thoughts folks might have on successful community efforts they've seen, or ideas on what might help make a lasting change in places struggling with similar challenges.
Sending love to Tevin's family and all those impacted.
Stay safe, everyone.
